Professional development at LaVie Rehab
Clinical development
As a new therapist or new clinician in the skilled nursing environment, the most important investment you can make in your future is to develop excellent clinical skills. At LaVie Rehab, we strive for clinical excellence and will partner with you to develop these skills.
Initial and Quarterly Skills Assessments will be used to identify areas of opportunity for growth in clinical skills throughout your first year. The result of the skills assessment will be reviewed with you by your director and will be used to select continuing education courses which will be tailored to your needs. This personally tailored Continuing Education Pathway will be delivered through our fantastic continuing education program. You will have access to the LaVie Rehab Academy, which is a web-based academy that offers a multitude of continuing education courses at no cost. Additionally, you will also have the continuing education and professional dues allotment to pay for other continuing education courses which will aid in your clinical development outside of the Academy offering.
Director of Rehab and mentor relationships
We have onsite management which will provide you with a daily resource to answer your questions and guide you in your growth and development. We will also assign a mentor to you. This mentor will be of your same discipline and will serve as a discipline-specific resource during your first year. You will meet with your mentor at least once per quarter to review your progress and help you develop your plan for continual improvement.
Monthly documentation reviews
At least once per month you will have a scheduled review of your documentation. The director of rehab will audit a selected chart and give you feedback on ways to improve your documentation. The availability of computerized documentation and this ongoing review process will put you on the leading edge of clinical documentation skills.
Specialized training sessions on clinical and documentation issues
Throughout the year we will host webinars and onsite training sessions addressing a variety of practice-related issues. These range form the standards of practice to the hot button issues for state surveyors and denial trends from medical
reviewers.
Weekly team review of utilization, clinical progress and discharge planning for caseload
Our weekly rehab staff meetings provide a structured opportunity to discuss your caseload with the interdisciplinary rehab team and receive guidance in discharge planning and caseload management.
Professional development
We encourage your membership and participation in professional organizations. We offer reimbursement for your fees and dues as a show of support for this important part of your career.
